DMCA Takedown Policy

Scattered Guide respects the intellectual property rights of others and responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

What a valid notice must include

To file a valid takedown notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), send legal@scatteredguide.com a written notice that includes:

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf. 2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed. 3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate it (e.g. the listing URL). 4. Your contact information: address, telephone number, and email address. 5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law. 6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

How to submit a notice

Send takedown notices to legal@scatteredguide.com with the subject line "DMCA Takedown Notice." We will review valid notices and remove or disable access to the identified material.

Counter-notice

If you believe material was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to legal@scatteredguide.com identifying the material removed and the reason you believe it was a mistake, along with your contact information and a statement under penalty of perjury of the same.
